The chair as a medium for interpersonal interaction
Chairs - At the end of each day we will sit in different chairs and do various activities with and on them. These chairs affect our body. Does the chair affect only the human body? Or can chairs affect the relationships between people?
"MAZU" is a chair on which the two sit together. This chair uses the principle of a swing that moves back and forth and is playful. Playing is an interaction where people can experience the same things together and feel the same feelings. So I tried to trigger human interaction through a chair with play. In addition, the two sit in vis-à-vis, which makes it easier to face each other and to control their movements through the balance and interaction of the two seated. In these "cooperative" gaming devices, the joy of the additional interpersonal interaction is kindled in us. As a medium, "MAZU" will interact with two seated people and enhance communication. "MAZU" is not only a chair, but also acts as a trigger that triggers the emotions of the people.
ipari is a room-dividing modular system. The modules are made of heat compressed felt material, is ideal to function as a room dividing system due to sound-absorbability, lightness and stability. The module-connection has flexibility in 2D-direction, also as a 3D-structure. In addition, the triangular assembly system functions like a basic triangular geometry so every shape is possible. Since the ipari is lightweight and stable, it can be even hung in the air or standalone.

Gachi brings different cultures and lifestyles together.
Home offices are more common now and the space for living becomes smaller. You need furniture which combines these needs. When you have some tea with your friends you can just sit lower and relax a bit and when you have to work and you need to sit higher for more concentration just stack some of the modules together. Gachi is a modular system: it doesn’t need much space and it is multifunctional in every way. The parts are very light and steady with a wall thickness of 5-7mm, because they are made out of polyurethane in a rotational molding. The possibilities for other materials and colors are also given.
As a jewelry company and furniture company, Bäumer and Walter Knoll are giving virtues of two things respectively. That is ‘Special Moment’ and ‘Everyday Life’. But I think life is just about moments and every single short-term memory could be captured and accumulated in everyday life as well. Through this procedure this inst-moment could be lasted eternally. From this idea I wanted to develop Echo cell. In one single module contains only one special memory. And each cell is gathered together and pile, in order to makes accumulation of everyday memories. In my concept memory could be saved as sound and recorded with voices, music, and song of nature. Easily people can carry single module everywhere. At home they can gather this module and connect with each other throughout the proper designed form and also protect and keep in safe very precious memories. They are collection of priceless memories. Later people can remind the moments with Echo cell.

Emotional Resonance visualizes the emotions of people with the lighting wave. It consists of a large water basin with light, and two small boxes, integrating heartbeat sensors and the tapping arms. Through the sensors it gets our heart rate and then conveys the signal to the moving arms and it leads touching the water surface. Depending on our emotional situation the speed of the tapping movements is changing in real time. When in placid situation, it touches water surface gently and slow, meanwhile when we are nervous, it makes frequenter and denser ripples. All of translations are projected on our environments by light, so we can recognize our own mind in a visual way. Two boxes are converting two different emotions of participants; this is making a collision as well as harmony of various types of ripples. Sometimes it makes calm and very flat shapes, but also rapid or radical patterns according to our emotional situations. Interestingly this phenomenon effects on the two different emotions and gradually makes them similar. This process consists of reading, representing and finally affecting our emotions. I would like to call it as “Emotional Resonance”. Definitely we are living in the digital world. But as a matter of fact all of us and our real environments are belonging to an analogic world. So I wanted to make something, which are mixed and influenced throughout both of them, and as a result somewhat is affecting our mind and makes possible to get precious experiences for us.

LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2018 SHORTLIST
Today, the advancement of technology threatens analog values, producing an increasing number of digital devices. In particular smart phones are leading the changes, incorporating a camera, a calendar and a music player into a single phone. The habit of taking notes and sketches with the hand are being replaced by various applications, making the traditional way of using the hand less relevant. However, I believe that both digital and analogous way of thinking should be complementary concepts to each other and not exclusive. My proposal reflects this concept in a (smartphone case) design. The main idea is to create a new synergy by combining the advantages of the digital instrument and the analogue habit of taking notes with the hand.
The proposed smartphone case has a little notebook attached to the back side of the phone, resembling the two sides of a coin. The rolling paper is fixed inside the case like a film in an analog camera, and a pen that has touch functions as well is placed in the empty space below the rolling paper. The paper can be rolled with the wheel so new paper can be used for additional sketching, and if it is full, it can be easily replaced like a cartridge with a new roll of paper.
These hand sketches can be digitalized by mirroring the image and taking a photo of it with the camera, and reversing back the image with a photo touch up application. This process combines the two contrary concepts of digital and analog into a reciprocal relationship.
Tetris is a modular furniture system that offers the user versatile design variations in the arrangement of the benches as well as the seating positions.
It consists of two L benches, two closed cubes and two stools.
The parts can be used individually, or when combined, they can function as a large rectangular pedestal. The seating surfaces of the benches are provided with oblong holes on two sides, to which seatbacks can be attached if required. The arrangement of the holes, there are many ways to design the seating landscape. If the backrests are not needed, they can be stowed away quickly in the cube elements.

Kubito is foldable grill to bring easily for outdoor camp or expedition. The idea was to design with a concept that would make the grill both compact, handy and robust, as well as easy to set up and dismantle. Therefore, a system has been developed that allows us to achieve a small volume during transport without sacrificing stability and comfort. The base is formed by two outer walls that define the final packing size. The carrying handles are connected with a foldable carbon catcher. The handles are possible to control height of carbon catcher to adjust the heat. Both sidewalls and gridiron are embedded in the outer walls.

Qoo is a drink holder designed to make drinking easier while cycling.
It differs from conventional drink holders in two ways: First, it is not mounted below the saddle, but usefully where the drink is better at hand; directly on the handlebar. On the other hand, Qoo enables the transport of drinking with variable sizes. While driving the beverage holder grab the drinking safely with a rubber band. With a clip the cup holder is simply installed on the bike and can be disassembled depending on needs.

An Air purifier for outdoor space which made with solar panel and recycled plastic.
Fine dust pollution is air pollution caused by fine particulates, which largely come from exhaust fumes from internal-combustion engines, smoke from factory chimneys and so on. Scientists are most concerned about particles smaller than 2.5 micrometers in diameter or less. These pose the greatest risk to human health because they are small enough to be breathed deep into the lungs and, in some cases, enter the blood stream. Not just from industrialized area, but also from natural sources like deserts, volcanos, particles are coming by wind and threatening our life. It is alleged to have the potential to make people sick and disrupt urban life. That is why many countries put great efforts into solving this problem nowadays.
What can we suggest as designers for our healthy lives and surrounding ecosystem even if we leave fundamental problem solving to governments? To solve this issue, I would like to propose an air purifier that provides the most environmental-friendly with efficient functionality. Some of us use air cleaners at home, but there is no way to avoid fine dust in outdoor spaces. In particular, in the developing and impoverished countries, there are a large number of people dying of this problem, but there are no innovative ways yet. So I designed an air purifier that doesn't require power, uses eco-friendly materials, and runs semi-permanent.

Samsung QLED TV Stand competition
The free slider is consist of three elements, which are fixing bracket, moving wire, and weight.
Nowadays we are able to do or experience lot of things with TV, including watching, training with tutorials, playing games, even communicating with other people. And these various activities demand proper position of the media. For example when we are watching TV Programs, maybe the proper height is around 70 to 80 cm from the floor. On the other hands, for Yoga training programs it would be way better to watch with the height 20 to 30 cm, because our pose is lower than normal situation. In a similar way, when we are enjoying party or playing game altogether, the best height of the TV would be 150 to 170 cm without sitting on a sofa. Like mentioned here, with adjustable height TV could suggest more better and diverse activities. This feature could be great selling point for the active people, active space, or various event places

(Vase + Container for food)
How could we define a kitchen in our homes these days? Traditionally a kitchen should have been very functional space for cooking or serving, and even nowadays the essential aim is still same. However nowadays it is becoming more and more important than the old days. Not just for functions we are enjoying the space by cooking and sharing their experiences together. That is a kitchen becomes one of the cultural core spaces in our home, therefore we are spending much longer time there. For that as a designer what could we reconsider about the gadgets/tools for the space?
One of the ruling principal in design was “Form Follows Functions.” Even though that is still valid and also powerful, but I think we need something more emotional/aesthetical for better quality of our life. A kitchen is the space where we can see the direct connection with the nature. We are preparing and cooking with natural material and ingredients there. So I would say the space is kind of the contacting point between nature and us. However it is hard to recognize the fact in everyday life. Basically human beings are not able to live without nature. A handful of wheat is same with a piece of bread.
Thanks to the shape and functional design VACO shows us the fact in a symbolic way. The upper part is a vase which we can contain flowers, raw vegetables or grains, and below part is a container for bread, cakes or other food which are produced with it. This connectivity makes us remind where the foods coming are and appreciate of the beauty of our mother nature. In our kitchen VACO is not just as a functional/aesthetical container, but also gives us messages from the origins in our everyday life.

‘Reversible Chandelier’ is a modern Chandelier, which is innovative interpreted with LG OLED Panels. Thanks to thin and flexible features of OLED panels it makes possible to change a conventional chandelier into shape-changeable lighting following the user’s needs. With this idea I designed R-Chandelier to transform the direction of light, ranging from sphere, half-sphere to focus. It is consisted with rings, OLED panels and a base part. OLED Panels are hanged between two rings and connected electrically. The whole lighting units are hanged from the controlling base on the ceiling. In the base the cable-winding system is integrated, which is made of bevel gear, rotating motor, and various sized pulleys. With this mechanism people can control the heights as well as shapes of the chandelier, and this leads various qualities of the light. When the lighting is moved to upper position it functions like a bulb, in contrast on the down position all light is focused with narrow downed angle.
‘R-Chandelier’ is a module system. With a various composition of the rings user can make diverse sizes and shapes according to the aims, and this affect the whole atmosphere of the space. For examples, 10-ringed chandelier could be installed for huge halls, and 3-ringed smaller one could be favored in smaller and private spaces.
It is not only innovative, but also very classic at the same time. I tried to mix the traditional and emotional property of old chandeliers with the lightness and safety of the OLED panel lightings.

What could be the best solution using the Sunbrella fabrics? The fabric is very flexible itself and also could be structurally quite supportable for the weight of people. From this perspective I would like to suggest “Very Simple” and “More Flexible” using of the material. The Draping Scenery is consisted of the simplest frames and hanged Sunbrella fabric, which makes various shadow for relaxing or meditation and functions as spatial furniture itself without any additional elements. In reacting with gestures of users, the whole appearance of the structure is changed dramatically, adopts and supports their poses with tension. In addition, this system is responding to nature, such as wind or orientation of the Sun, and people can feel the atmosphere directly. The basic module helps us to make diverse compositions, which is like expanded, opened or closed, and this leads various actions, such as relaxing, promenading, outdoor activities or concert, theater functions as well. Thanks to depth of the fabric structure and hole patterns on it people can enjoy interacting shadow-playing, by pulling, stretching or pushing. Less additional elements make possible to maximize the possibility of the fabric.

A Ferrofluid is a liquid which becomes strongly magnetized in the presence of a magnetic field. It looks like black water in a normal condition, but in the magnetic fields it is condensed and solidarized. With this coherence of Ferrofluid it is possible to control light and shadow. Furthermore we can change the shape of solidarized Ferrofluid, using forms of various electromagnetics such as linear, dotted, and facial way.
In each of transparent glass blade two materials are contained, opaque Ferrofluid and transparent suspension liquid, and on one side of it a lineal electromagnetic is installed. With a strongest electromagnetics Ferrofluid is changed itself into a narrowest form and it makes widest opening. Oppositely with a weakest magnetic field Ferrofluid has a lowest viscosity and covers the glass blade completely and blocks sunlight up.
